Varalakshmi Vratam at Sri Sathya Sai Mandir

Morthad, August 21 (Gatla News): On the occasion of the auspicious month of Sravana, women performed the Varalakshmi Vratam with great devotion at the Sri Sathya Sai Mandir in Mortad, where a portrait of Swami had been beautifully decorated. Rising early, they cleaned their homes, decorated their prayer rooms with flowers, and conducted special rituals for Goddess Varalakshmi. They installed a *Kalasham* (sacred pot), worshipped the Goddess as an embodiment of Lakshmi, performed traditional rites and vows, and recited the story of the *Vratam* with deep reverence. Devotees believe that observing the Varalakshmi Vratam brings peace, happiness, prosperity, wealth, and good health to the family. A distinctive feature of this observance involves women wearing new clothes, offering *Naivedyam* (sacred food offerings) to the Goddess, and exchanging *Vayanam* (auspicious offerings) with other married women. Consequently, homes across villages and towns were filled with a festive atmosphere. Following the rituals, *Anna Prasadam* (sanctified food) was distributed.conviner sadan Women devotees of Sathya Sai participated in this program.
