Karimnagar, Augst 03(Gatla News):Temperatures on the globe are gradually rising. El Nino effects are causing drought. Untimely rains are causing havoc. Fossil fuels are causing pollution and haze. Plastic waste is causing disturbance. Biodiversity destruction is increasing at an alarming rate. The forests, which are the lungs of the globe, are being depleted. The green carpets of Mother Earth’s surfaces are thinning. A green revolution is urgently needed as an antidote to all this. Noted author and social activist Lion Capt Dr. Burra Madhusudhan Reddy said that it is a happy development that people are planting at least one tree in the name of Amma in their respective areas, noting that if Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call “Maa Ke Naam Ek Peed” or “Let’s plant a tree in the name of Amma” comes true.
On this occasion, he demonstrated his commitment by planting a green sapling in the name of Amma at his residence in Mankammathota, Karimnagar. Today, Dr. Burra Madhusudhan Reddy and his wife Smt. Burra Jalaja Reddy planted two coconut saplings, a lemon sapling, an amla and some flower saplings and watered them. Lion Beni Gopal Trivedi, Raju and other elders participated in the plantation program organized as part of this green movement led by Satavahana Lions Club and expressed their joy.
